Jersey Shore Skim Camp has blown up a fair amount in 3 years thanks to some really genuine people including myself and all of our sponsors. A special thanks to Felecia Stratton for really making it all happen though!
Check out how far we have come and please spread the word so we can get more kids involved in our sport. Believe me when I tell you it’s not about the money. Pretty much every penny made has been put right back into it and has/is/will always be that way. “This year Skim USA celebrated the 30th anniversary of it’s longest running event, the East Coast Skimboarding Championships. As competition director Harry Wilson announced his retirement from contest organizing the event changed it’s name and transitioned into an all amateur competition: The Zap Amateur World Championships of Skimboarding presented by: Alley_Oop. Now with excess event funds available from not having a professional purse to award funds were put into bringing in top riders from around the globe, high level prizes, a larger beach set up, and documentation of the event by skim cinematographer Tony Bianchi . Check out the movie below to see exactly what this event was all about. It is a piece of history that anyone interested in Skimboarding must see! A documentary, reality show, and history lesson all rolled into one. Give yourself a moment to sit down and take in this piece of skimboarding that will entertain you for 35 minutes. This is were we came from and where we’re going with this historical event.”
It was a blast working with everyone on this project. All the Groms are epic kids and J-Dub is a solid friend to me. It was magical.

(PG)So after two years old absolutely horrid conditions, this year we finally got decent waves again. Day one I decided to go with a vintage feel, and day two a standard good time feel. I try to always do two days because this contest is my favorite and it deserves the full treatment. Everyone always brings good vibes and Felecia Stratton goes above and beyond for everyone with prizes and hospitality. I don’t want to get ahead of myself here, but I think this might be Greg’s top 3 favorite to come to judging by what I’ve seen.
If you haven’t been here in the past 8 years, I think you should come this Sept. 11th and 12th. No matter what it will be a good time.
